Monte Forato
Dosłowne tumaczenie – “dziurawa góra”. Fajnie mieszkać blisko gór i jednocześnie nad morzem, widoczki przy zacnej pogodzie są zniewalające. Na jednym ze zdjęć widać Korsykę i jej najwyższe szczyty, oddalone od 200 do 220 km od Monte Forato. Powieść kumpla z roboty – jeden koleś wjechał samochodem gdzieś wysoko na Korsyce, drugi w Alpach Apuańskich. Ustawili je odpowiednio i rozmawiali ze sobą morsem za pomocą świateł drogowych. Cóż za widoczność!
Direct translation, mountain with a hole. It is nice to live by the sea and close to the mountains. The views on a clear day are flabbergasting. On one of the pictures you can see Corsica and its highest peaks, between 200 and 220 km from Monte Forato. A story from a pal at work – one lad took his car somewhere up in Corsica, another guy in the Apuan Alps. They parked them just right and could actually have a conversation in morse language using the high beams. What a visibily!
Monte Serra
Góra która dominuje z jednej strony nad Pizą, z drugiej nad Luccą. Łatwo można ją rozpoznać z każdej strony przez zestaw anten wybudowany na jej szczycie. Można z niej podziwiać praktycznie całą dolinę rzeki Arno z Pizą na czele, wzgórzami od południa i morzem od zachodu. Podoba mi się tam nocą, szczególnie gdy się trafi akurat na zachód księżyca 🙂
The mountain overlooks Pisa on one side and Lucca on the other. You can easily recognise it from any spot due to a set of huge antennas built on its peak. From it you can admire practically the whole plain of river Arno with Pisa in the middle, hills in the south and sea in the west. I like it at night, particularly when you can witness the moon setting 🙂
Falling stars
Powyższy tutył nasunął mi się ponieważ można, jakby się uparł, odnieść wrażenie, że gwiazdy wpadają do jeziora. Ale jakby spojrzeć pod innym kątem, to na zdjęciu rzeczywiście utrwaliło się kilka spadających gwiazd 🙂
The title occured to me as one can get the impression that the stars are actually falling into the lake. If you look more closely though, you can see that some falling stars got actually immortalized in this picture 🙂
Perspectives
Skończył się dla nas kolejny rok a w jego miejsce zaczął następny. Miejmy tylko nadzieję, że wpisze się pod hasło typu “aby do wiosny” raczej niż “z deszczu pod rynnę”… Nie wszystko jednak można podpiąć pod nasze pojmowanie przemijania czasu. Za milion lat na tym obrazku zmieni się niewiele, może zniknie któraś gwiazda a w jej miejsce wskoczy inna. Krzyża za to z pewnością nie będzie.
Yet another year is finished for us and the next one began. Let us just hope that it will reveal itself to the tune of “after the rain comes sun” rather than “out of the frying pan into the fire”… Not everything fits into our perception of passing time. In a million years not much will change in this view, maybe a star will disappear and a new one will arrive in its place. The cross will be definitely gone though.

Open arms
Z pewnym opóźnieniem kolejne podejście do fotografi gwiazd. Chmury i statki zakłóciły mi co nieco proces twórczy, ale dzięki wyrozumiałości i pozytywnemu nastawieniu bohaterki zdjęcia udało się dokończyć naświetlanie i jakoś wszystko posklejać 🙂
With a small delay another approach to night sky photography. Clouds and ships disrupted the creative process a bit, but thanks to the understanding and positive attitude of the protagonist of the picture I managed to finish the exposure and somehow put it all together 🙂

Night out
– Chodź na spacer.
– Nie, no nie można przecież, epidemia jest. Będzie choroba albo mandat.
– No co ty, dawaj, idziemy.
– Jak już musisz to idź się poszwędać po ogrodzie.
I tak oto wypuściłem aparat na ogród, żeby się nieco rozruszał. Nie było go całą noc i rano wrócił z czymś takim.
– Come for a walk.
– But we can’t, there is an emergency. We will catch either a virus or a ticket.
– Come on, mate, let’s go.
– Since you really have to, go outside to wander around the garden.
This is how I let my camera go for a strall in the garden.It was gone all night and came back with this.
Tunel
Oto moje trzecie podejście do astrofotografi. Pierwsze to była totalna, nieprzemyślana katastrofa, drugie natomiast nie wyszło ze względu na nieprzewidziane (aczkolwiek przewidywalne) czynniki techniczne. Do następnych będę troszkę lepiej przygotowany. Trzeba będzie sie z miasta wyprowadzić 😛
This is my third approach to astrophotography. First one was a complete, ill-considered catastrophe while the second one did not work due to unpredicted (albeit predictable) technical issues. I will be a bit better prepared for future ones. Gotta move out from the city though 😛
